Bunnahabein 28 yrs cherry cask
Talisker
The word 'Bunnahabhain' means river mouth. Bunnahabhain was built in 1881 by the Greenless Brothers and is still the most northern distillery on the Isle of Islay. After the distillery was set up a small town formed around the distillery. In 2003 the distillery was bought by Burn Stewart Distillers and is active today. The production volume of Bunnahabhain is at about 2.5 million litres of alcohol per year. A pretty special bottling of Bunnahabhain, distilled in February 1988. This single malt was then left to rest in a single refill Oloroso sherry hogshead for a whopping 28 years, until it was bottled in 2016 by the Jewish Whisky Company for the Single Cask Nation series. Only 115 bottles of this puddingy whisky were released.
